Jeffersonville, or the abbreviated “Jeff” as locals refer to it is directly north of Louisville in Clark County, Indiana. The city was one of the principal gateways to the South during the Civil war, due to its location directly opposite Louisville.
Today, Jeffersonville claims both pizza and hamburger royalty, as the birthplace of both Papa John’s Pizza and Rally’s. Jeffboat, American Commercial Lines manufacturing divison is the nation’s largest shipbuilding facilities in the world for barges, spanning 68 acres on the Ohio River in Jeffersonville.
The Big Four Bridge, a pedestrian and bicycle path, now connects Louisville to Jeffersonville, which has a mix of restaurants along the riverfront and downtown. Another cool outdoor attraction, River Stage, is the perfect venue for city views and outdoor concerts.
