Neighborhood: New Albany

Located in Floyd County, Indiana, New Albany, sits along the Ohio River, directly across from Louisville. This city offers a mix of old-town community friendliness and urban charm. Every October, the downtown hosts the Harvest Homecoming festival, one of the largest annual events in the state. New Albany’s Main Street features 19th century mansions (most prominent is the allegedly haunted Culbertson Mansion). Culturally, New Albany offers sites like the Carnegie Center for Art & History and the Division Street School (a former African-American elementary school from the 1880s). Couple that with a lively downtown restaurant and shopping scene, and it’s no wonder residential developments keep popping up. A description of New Albany wouldn’t be complete without mentioning beer. The New Albanian Bank Street Brewhouse is a must-visit for craft beer enthusiasts.
