Shively is a working-class Southside neighborhood with various public works projects occurring and some businesses moving to the area. For example, Brown-Forman’s Early Times distillery calls Shively home. The former Stitzel-Weller distillery now houses the Bulleit Bourbon brand. Shively’s modern boundaries are roughly Louisville’s Algonquin neighborhood; Louisville’s Seventh Street to the east; and St. Dennis to the west; and Pleasure Ridge Park to the south. Pleasure Ridge Park is a large Southside suburb with many retail outlets including the Dixie Manor Shopping Center and a Super Wal-Mart.
