The Lift a Life Foundation and the Community Foundation of Louisville are seeking a Hunger Innovation Fellow to accelerate and elevate Louisville’s approach to addressing food insecurity.

The one-year, $100,000 fellowship is for an innovator who sees food access through a different lens. By applying knowledge and best practices from other sectors, the foundation partners are looking for a candidate who can bring a fresh perspective to the challenge of food insecurity.

The fellow must have a proven track record of identifying problems, designing solutions, mastering relationships and realizing ideas. A candidate’s past experiences must demonstrate the competence and ability to create change that counters a longstanding, large-scale challenge while building trust, growing relationships and garnering commitment.

The foundations met with approximately 13 local organizations that shared their needs and concerns around efforts to confront food insecurity. Their collective feedback informed the decision to develop this one-year fellowship to study the environment, diagnose challenges, and devise likely solutions.

“The Hunger Innovation Fellowship will help identify opportunities with the potential to significantly accelerate and elevate the collective efforts of local organizations and their partners,” says Ashley Novak Butler, Executive Director, Lift a Life Foundation. “Solutions may even inspire change for communities facing similar challenges.”
